The Amenta: Flesh is Heir

Sydney, Australia’s The Amenta have been tearing the faces off of their fans, and anyone who happens to get caught in the crosshairs, since 2002 with their self-released EP, Mictlan. In 2004, the band was picked up by Listenable Records to issue their debut full-length, Occasus, and never let this band go. Nine years, a follow-up, and three EPs later, The Amenta bring us a brand new album titled Flesh is Heir. With high praise for their recent pre-cursor EP, Teeth, one can only hope this album is as strong as that small taste of brutality…

Control Human Delete: The Prime Mover

2001 saw the birth of Control Human Delete, an Industrial Black Metal group from the Netherlands However, over the years, the band hasn’t really issued much. In 2003, they released two EPs, then their debut full-length album Terminal World Perspective in 2007. Another EP followed in 2011, and now we’re given the follow-up album, The Prime Mover, being released through Code666 Records. With this style being all the rage lately, is it time for the band to shine, or is The Prime Mover bound to be forever lost among the many other acts?

Aborym: Dirty

Aborym is one band name that slips off the tongue of many Black Metal fans worldwide when asking about some of their favorite artists in the style, and typically a “must hear” suggestion. Considered by many as a band that manages to include a strong Industrial element well into the mix while keeping each album unique from its predecessor. Right now, their upcoming album, Dirty, has been the discussion on many internet forums and podcasts. Fans are anxious for their next outting, while some are skeptical thanks to the recently released single, “Irreversible Crisis.” Well, I’ve had the chance to sit down with it, switching back and forth with albums to review that are closer to launch date, and I wanted to contibute a little more to these conversations than just praise and pissing over that one song.

Orgy: Grime of the Century

Orgy has returned, and to prove it, they present their latest single, “Grime of the Century.” The song comes from their upcoming full-length album. I heard this single once before, but paid no real attention to it, not liking it at first, but now hearing a higher quality promotional version, does this pose to set up a potentially kick ass album, or does it make the seven year wait seem worthless?

Spektr: Cypher

I’ve never had the opportunity to check out the French Black Metal group Spektr before, though I know I’ve heard the name before. Formed back in 2000, they have had two full-lengths and an EP. So, with the band and Agonia Records issuing a streaming preview of the album, I decied o dive into my stack of promos and pull their upcoming release, Cypher out for a quick spin to dive deeper into what the band has in store for their fans.

Davey Suicide: Put Our Trust in Suicide

Put Our Trust in Suicide marks the debut EP from the Alternative Metal, Industrial, and Punk infused glam-group/solo act Davey Suicide. This recording has been billed as a release from an important member of the Los Angeles, California music scene, insisting that you know who he is, even though you probably don’t. Essentially acting as the voice of today’s youth, Standby Records saw the potential in the group and picked them up to bring this three songs plus one remix release to the fans. But, is this really a rebellious anthem, or is it another glitzy, glamorous group of wannabes?
