Gravity Rain is a one-man Rock and Metal operation based out of Samara, Russia. The man behind the music is the song writer by the name of Danny Klaven, a musician heavily inspired by the likes of In Flames, Manowar and Devin Townsend, not to mention Dream Theater. The latter two influences in his life clearly come into play with this brand new solo project and it’s debut EP The Shining Silence. While Metal at its roots, there’s an undeniable accessiveness through some Alternative Rock elements from time to time. But does this hold back the impact of the brand new release, or is it nothing more than an after thought you will pay no mind to?

Hellgoat: End of Man 7″
Atlanta, Georgia’s Hellgoat has been in existence since 2004. It has also kept a fairly steady three-piece line-up since then, though two long-time members have shifted their roles. Founder Amon Demogorgon (Lament Configuration, former Eyes of Ligeia) started on vocals, moved to bass around 2008, and currently resides as the band’s guitarist. Meanwhile Asmodeus Loriol Vetis went from handling both bass and vocals to guitar and back again, and drummer Vaedis remains in the same position. With the exception of two full-length albums, much of their discography is made up of demos, splits, and EPs, the third of which is what the just over eight minute seven-inch vinyl End of Man falls under. But does this new slab two song release act as a treat for all fans of Black Metal, or will even their most loyal of fans disapprove?
Exclusive Stream - Ingurgitating Oblivion: “Descent to the Temple”
Ingurgitating Oblivion is a Progressive Death Metal band that fans of the genre simply need to know about. Among the ranks of this German death filled supergroup are former members of Of Trees and Orchids, Amok, Gallery of Darkness, Ripped 2 Shreds, not to mention three having played for Slaughterday live in the past. These are just some of the roots this five-piece bring with them to the studio for their long awaited second album Continuum of Absence, their first studio album since their 2005 debut Voyage Toward Abhorrence. In an effort to spread this disease, Willowtip Records and Apochs.net have joined up to stream the track “Descent to the Temple,” a just under seven minute slab of technical brutality, which can be heard below!
Metal Review - Pillbuster: Brothel EP
The hot bed for talent that is Virginia has given us plenty of solid bands as far back as you can think. It’s a state known for a strong Metal scene, not to mention a booming Hardcore presence, Punk, plenty of Rock groups, and even one of the biggest pervaiers of the Southern Rock style. This is where we find Pillbuster, a four-piece Stoner Rock group that seems to feed off their current state of residency, all the while feeding on each member’s own hometown roots that range from that very location to Detroit, New York, and Colorado. 2013 saw the release of their debut full-legth album throuh Stonerkill Records, the label responsible for issuing their brand new four song EP, Brothel. With Dick Hodgin (COC, Lynyrd Skynyrd) working with the group at Osceola Studios in Raleigh, North Carolina, one can’t help but immediately become anxious to hear what this group has in store for listeners. But does this new recording really stand out in the crowd, or is this one the state itself might rather forget exists?
