Review - Brujeria: Pocho Aztlan
Brujeria, the death metal and grindcore “Mexican drug lord” outfit, has stirred up quite the controversy over the years. However, after their 2000 follow-up album Brujerizmo, the act seemed to essentially vanish off the face of the earth, only to resurface for various singles starting in 2008 and a promise of an eventual fourth album in 2015. Sixteen years later (one more than projected) and we finally get that long-awaited release titled Pocho Aztlan, which is being handled by Nuclear Blast Records this time around. But has the wait been worth it, or has this supplier run dry of quality material?
