When Geometry Wars first debuted as a mini-game in Project Gotham Racing 2, nobody knew the beast that it would eventually become. Bizarre Creations noticed the popularity of this simple bonus addition and brought a stand-alone version to the Xbox Live Arcade back in November of 2003 titled Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved. A sequel was released a few years later, as was the spin-off titled Geometry Wars: Galaxies for the Nintendo DS and even the Wii. For 2014, Sierra Entertainment and Lucid Games brings us the third instalment, Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions, which takes the once simple two-dimensional twin-stick shooter in another plain of existence. But does this new entry into what has become a digital gaming franchise line-up to its predecessors, or is it a lifeless carbon copy that doesn’t need to exist?

Game Review - The Amazing Spider-Man 2
It’s that time once again! A brand new comic book licensed movie has hit theaters, and with it comes the obligatory game based off the movie that’s based off the comic series/franchise that just happens to be the release of The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Like usual, Activision has enlisted Beenox, the team behind all the recent console adaptations of the web slinger’s recent adventures, to put together a new game like their previous offering for the first film in this line of motion picture reboots. But does this film create a unique enough plot to not intrude on the film itself, or is it just an quickly designed cash grab?
First Impression - Blood of the Werewolf
Blood of the Werewolf was originally a PC title, finding its audience through the Steam network. Since its computer debut it found it’s way onto the Xbox Live Marketplace at a modest price tag of just seven dollars (US currency). With this title earning plenty of praise, I figured it would be a suitable game to just relax and play some old-school platforming action with between my time with Dark Souls II and Murdered: Soul Suspect (both I will be reviewing soon). At first, I greatly enjoyed what time I put in so far. But that was only the first stage. Everything changed by the time I reached the next level…
Game Review - Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 took much of the gaming world by surprise. Many didn’t expect a follow-up to the first entry in the series, and with the gameplay footage and artwork made available over time, it was clear this was going to far surpass the initial entry. Prior to its launch, a demo of the game’s opening battle had been made available on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 console marketplaces everywhere, and both the fan and critic acceptance was almost immediately clear. Just the concept of playing as Dracula this time around made many a hearts flutter with anticipation. But is this entry to the level of a suitable sequel, or have we been given something far worse than what we were initially sold?
Review - Warface: Xbox 360 Edition
Warface originally premiered on the PC in October of 2013. Since then, Crytek has been working on a freemium version of the title for the Xbox Live Arcade. After a good deal of private beta development, the title went into public beta on the console’s digital marketplace, joining the ranks of other free-to-play games like Happy Wars and World Series of Poker: Full House Pro. But is the title really ready to make it’s public debut, or should Crytek have kept it in the shadows just a little bit longer?
Discussion: The Pros and Cons of Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare
Around the start of March, I intended to do a full review of Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare for the site. I was hoping to have an Xbox One by then, but still don’t. Of course most of what I talk about here reflects that version too. But, due to some bigger titles hitting the inbox, a few review copies of digital games I need to take care of, and all the games I bought during the recent Ultimate Game Sale on the Xbox Marketplace, this title immediately sat on the back burner. While an actual review is still a ways off, some of you have asked if it’s worth grabbing since the Xbox 360 version is on-line only. I figured I’d talk about my experiences so far in the game to at least get an opinion out there until I finally get around to giving it some proper coverage.
