Ragnarok, Incantation Announce November European Tour

Norwegian black metallers RAGNAROK will hit the road in Europe next month when they embark on a European tour supporting US death metal legends Incantation. Both bands are veterans of the metal scene and will be touring with their latest albums – RAGNAROK with their seventh-full length “Malediction”, released on Agonia Records, and Incantation with their ninth full-length “Vanquish in Vengeance” which came out on Listenable Records. Billed as the “Crusade of Vengeance Tour”.
Saturday Morning Mystery
Saturday Morning Mystery, or Saturday Morning Massacre as it is being billed for the US it seems, is the latest film to be released through XLrator Media. The film has been heralded as a Comedy/Horror flick in the vein of Scooby-Doo and Evil Dead, though it hasn’t been getting the most positive and warm of receptions that you might expect. Clearly taking from the sixties detective cartoons, this throws a fictious, and all too familiar gang together into a twisted world of mystery and murder. But, is Saturday Morning Mystery as bad as many have been claiming, or is this actually a solid nod to the Hannah-Barbara days of sleuthing?
Socially Networked - Wakk Thuu
So, as I was sitting here wrapping up a review for the site, I got a random invitation on Facebook to “like” the band Wakk Thuu. Just who the hell is Wakk Thuu, you ask? Well, I asked myself that same question. Apparently they are a four-piece Grindcore outfit out of Kathmandu, Nepal, and their name roughly translates to “disgusting behavior” according to the “about me” section of their ReverbNation page, and, no, those songs aren’t screwed up MP3 uploads, that’s their legit material.
Pig Destroyer Announce Festival Dates, “Mass & Volume” Charity EP

The undisputed Kings of Grind PIG DESTROYER will be hitting the road this summer for a handful of festivals this including GWAR-B-Q, Hopscotch Fest (with label-mates Inter Arma and ASG), Basillica Soundscape in Hudson, NY and the Housecore Horror Film Fest in Austin, TX. A complete list of dates can be viewed below.
Hallig: 13 Keys to Lunacy

Germany’s Hallig is a relatively new Black Metal group. The band formed around 2010, and now consists of five members. They quickly found themselves signed to Folter Records to unleash their debut full-length album, 13 Keys to Lunacy, an effort that hasn’t seen much exposure since it dropped. Is this because the release is far from anything spectacular, or is it simply that they have been greatly overlooked?
Morality Crisis: North

Minneapolis/St. Paul’s Morality Crisis started back in 2003, broke up in 2006, and reformed in 2011. Since then, they released the Love and Passion EP, and for 2012 present a four song recording titled North. This effort clocks in at just over twelve minutes, and presents gritty music against a crisp audio production thanks to Adam Tucker and time in Signaturetone Recording. But, does this release end up being something worth paying attention to, or is it just another introduction into Sludge and Post-Hardcore mediocrity?
Downfall of Gaia Announce North America Tour Dates

Post black metallers DOWNFALL OF GAIA will be returning to the States beginning August 16 in Wallingford, Connecticut with additional shows to be confirmed in the coming weeks. Additionally, DOWNFALL OF GAIA has posted a video that includes footage from their recent European tour. The skillfully shot, black and white video can be seen on YouTube.
De Magia Veterum: The Deification

Formed in 2003 and hailing from the Netherlands, De Magia Veterum is an Avant-Garde Black Metal outfit that has stayed the course in the shadows of the underground world. ‘M’ (Mories) is the sole member, but a very busy individual. Not only are there four EPs and three full-length albums under this project’s belt, he’s also involved with Cloak of Altering and Gnar Their Tongues, Aderlating, Seirom, and Pompidou, as well as a former member of a few others. But, concerns about being overworked don’t seem to really matter, as all the releases from De Magia Veterum seem to earn varied responses from fans and critics alike, though the EPs tend to be frowned upon more. So, does his fourth outing, The Deification, stand tall with the others, or is this one that is best to be overlooked?
Raw - Rabbits / Årabrot: Split 7″
Portland’s Rabbits and Norway’s Årabrot have come together to present two new cuts of Sludge, Punk, and Hardcore noise with a new seven inch vinyl through Eolian Empire (Fysisk Format in Europe). It’s just one song a piece, but with the latter of the two winning Spellemannprisen’s Best Metal Record with Solar Anus in 2011, you can’t help but be intrigued. One quick spin will show that both are solid contenders for the style they perform.
