Rocksmith 2014
2011 saw the debut of the educational music-based game Rocksmith. The title was meant to serve as a means to learn guitar, offering the option to buy it packaged with a guitar and the connection chord that allowed the game to read the notes, or just your standard version with the chord separately. Three years later, and Rocksmith 2014 is upon us with more Rock and Metal hits to learn to play. With the title boasting the sixty-day challenge that boasts you can learn how to play a guitar in that amount of time, it becomes an enticing way to get people who never learned guitar but always wanted to (such as myself) a chance to pick up a six-string give it a whirl. But, does this entry make the grade, or is Rocksmith 2014 far less helpful than it claims to be?
The Wolf Among Us - Episode One: Faith

Telltale Games, the company behind the successful video game adaptation of the comic series The Walking Dead, is back with a brand new comic-to-game Adventure title. The Wolf Among Us is a five episode series based on the DC Comics/Vertigo series Fable. With the sudden success of point-and-click titles on home consoles, this entry has been one fans of the genre, as well as the company itself have been cautiously frothing at the mouth to pick up. The developer’s shift from zombies and Horror to a fantastical fables, folklore, fairy tales is definitely a large enough leap to leave players a bit iffy. But, does Episode One: Faith kick off a strong start about this tale of fantasy living in reality, or is it perhaps one of their weakest entries since their breakout “game of the year” hit?
First - Deadfall Adventures (Xbox 360)
Deadfall Adventures is the brainchild of Farm 51, and is being released through Nordic Games, known for the apparent flop that was the recent entry in the Painkiller series. A lot of sites are already reporting that this title follows suit, being a rather mediocre experience. I never got to play any those previous titles, though it is a small series I was interested in for a while, but simply couldn’t afford. Thankfully a review copy of this new First Person Shooter just hit the inbox, and I wanted to see if it was as bland as some are saying, or if people are just jumping on a “Hate Nordic Games” bandwagon…
Outside the Box - Rise of Venice

When it comes to Strategy and Simulation games, I’ll be the first to admit I’m not the biggest fan. I do get into my fair share of titles in the genre though, such as the Civilization games, early Sim City entries, and a few war-based titles on the computer that escape me at this time. But, I’m always willing to give a game in this field a fair chance. With a recent press release, screens, and videos for Gaming Minds Studios’ Rise of Venice, a title being distributed by Kalypso Media, sparking some intrigue, I couldn’t help but give it a shot. With an open mind and anticipation, I grabbed this title from the Steam store and loaded it up.
Foul Play

Mediatonic and Mastertronic are two game companiews that seem to fly under nearly everyone’s radar, though many have heard of their work at this point. Mediatonic is known for designing many games that Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim is known for constantly promoting during their programming, and Mastertronic is known more for some of their digital and PC titles, such as the Alien Breed trilogy and Serious Sam entries. Now the two have paired up to make the new side-scrolling Action title Foul Play a reality over Steam and Xbox Live Arcade. But, just what is this title, and is it any good?
