Pigs-WrongerSlider
Pigs is the spawn of Unsane bassist Dave Curran writing songs on guitar with Player’s Club and Freshkills drummer Jim Paradise. The name, however, came about when spitballing what to call the new entity, eventually settling on this monicker because “it was short enough that press and promoters couldn’t fuck it up.” Eventually, the band unleashed their debut album, You Ruined Everything, back in 2012 through Solar Flare Records. Now an official three-piece outfit with Andrew Schneider on bass and vocals, Pigs presents their follow-up effort, Wronger. But does this new outing show any improvements over their last, or is there little to redeem this new creation?

Circle-Slider
Circle is a recently release film written and directed by Aaron Hann and Mario Micione. Both are not new to their roles, having worked together on the television series The Vault, which ran from 2011 to 2014. This effort has picked up for distribution through Votiv Films, and is currently trending on Netflix instant at the time of writing this review. However, does a movie discussed as a take on population control or even the status quo stand as something well worth watching, or is it nothing but more overly pretentious independent science fiction fodder?

Review - Tales of the Tomb: Volume One: Morpras

Posted by & filed under Metal, Reviews.

Edmonton, Canada’s Tales of the Tomb may not have been around long, but have accomplished quite a bit even in just the last year. The death metal oriented group have played a little more than a dozen live shows, and wasted no time recording a slew of demo material, the first being the Snowtown Demo back in September of 2014. However, for their debut EP Volume One: Morpras, which will see release later in November of this year, the group recorded at Hillbilly Wizard Sound, but enlisted the mastering skills of none other than Dawn Swano at Unisound. But is it one that will be warmly embraced by those looking for something new to sink their teeth into, or is it just a mild experience that doesn’t speak kindly of it’s five headed master?
